What the app does,
screen by screen
Map
Tap a station, or two
The app opens on the map. Tap a station to see the next trains, the last train tonight and what's nearby. Tap two and you get the route, the fare and the whole trip, including the walk between lines, the second ticket and which car to board.
Live trains
See where the train is
When riders on a train share their ride, you can watch that train move on the map. When nobody is sharing, the app shows a predicted train from the schedule, drawn with a dashed line. Tap a train to see how many minutes until each station. On MRT‑3 it also tells you which side the doors open.
When there's a problem
Service status and alerts
Advisories come from official announcements. Turn on notifications to get alerts for suspensions and major disruptions.
Transfers
Changing lines
Every transfer in Metro Manila is outside the fare gates, so changing lines means paying twice. The app prices both rides and shows the walk between them. Recto to Ayala, for example, is a change at Cubao and about ten minutes on foot.
No signal needed
Works offline
Fares, stations, the map, timetables and service hours are saved in the app, so they work underground and in dead spots. When a fare changes, the app updates the next time you open it.

Nearest station
The app checks your location only when you ask, then lists the stations by distance. Your location stays on your phone.
Crowds
How busy it is
Tap once to report how crowded it is. If nobody has reported lately, the app shows what's usual for that hour. You can also report that a train just left, the line is long or an escalator is down. Reports are marked unconfirmed until three people agree, and are deleted after 90 days.
Home screen
Saved trips and a widget
Save the trips you take every day so the fare is ready when you open the app. The home-screen widget shows your first saved trip and the latest alert.
Only if you want
Start ride
Nothing is shared until you tap Start ride. Then you get a stop alarm and your trip on the lock screen, and riders waiting down the line can see your train coming. When you stop, your live location is deleted.
Stop alarm
Wake me at my stop
Your phone works out where you are on its own, without the internet, so the alarm still goes off underground and with no signal. On PNR the alarm follows the timetable. Pick your train and it goes off ten minutes before you arrive.
Paying
No beep card?
On MRT‑3 and LRT‑2, each station lists the bank cards, phones and QR codes you can tap or scan at the gate.

Filipino or English, dark or light
Use the app in English or Filipino, in dark or light mode, in metres or miles. If you have a Student, Senior or PWD card, turn on the discount once and every fare includes it.

Four lines, 139 stations,
three places to change
PNR trains run only from Halang Dos to Lucena and from Lupi Viejo to Naga. The rest of the line is suspended.

Partly runningTwo services run every day. The Inter Provincial Commuter goes from Halang Dos to Lucena, four trips a day. Halang Dos replaced Calamba station on 16 December 2025. The Bicol Commuter Train goes from Lupi Viejo to Naga, three round trips a day. The app has their fares and timetable. Check PNR’s Facebook page for each day’s trips.
Tutuban to Calamba stopped in 2023 and 2024 to make way for the North-South Commuter Railway, and buses run from Tutuban to Alabang instead. Lucena to Lupi Viejo stopped in 2012. Naga to Legazpi stopped on 10 November 2025, after Typhoon Uwan. PNR hasn't published fares to Halang Dos yet.
Opening soon: MRT-7 in the second quarter of 2027 · NSCR in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Network status as of October 2026. The transfers at Doroteo Jose and EDSA are covered walkways. At Cubao you walk through the Araneta City malls.
Where the numbers come from
Every number shows
when we last checked it
TrainsPh isn't run by the DOTr, the LRTA, the MRTA or PNR, and none of them provide or approve its data. Everything comes from what they publish.
Fares get checked the most. The 2017 app died because its fares went stale. By the time it left the store, not one of its LRT‑1 fares was still right. This time every fare is checked against the operator's own table.
Other data. Station locations come from Wikipedia. Walking times at transfers use the longer estimate, so you won't run late. Crowd levels with no recent reports are estimates from normal rush hours. Nearby places are summarised from Wikipedia.
We post advisories by hand from official announcements, so during a breakdown the operators' own pages may be faster.
Fare fixes reach the app the next time you open it, without a store update.
Not in this version
Station CCTV
The 2017 app was known for its station CCTV. Those feeds came from the DOTr and went down years ago, and the server is gone.
PNR in Metro Manila
Tutuban to Calamba has been suspended since 2023 and 2024 to make way for the North-South Commuter Railway. PNR’s provincial trains are in the app.
Community chat
The open chat isn't coming back. One person can't moderate an anonymous chat room properly. In its place is the one-tap crowd report for each station, deleted after 90 days.
Privacy
No account. No ads.
As little data as possible.

There's nothing to sign up for. A random ID stops one phone from reporting the same crowd twice.
Your location is shared only if you choose
Finding the nearest station uses your location on your phone only. Start ride shares where you are while you ride, so riders down the line can see the train coming. When you stop, your live location is deleted. Departure and travel times are kept for 90 days without your name, to improve predictions.
Crowd reports get deleted
Reports are anonymous and deleted after 90 days.
Usage counts you can turn off
The app counts which screens and fares people use, so we know what to fix. It doesn't collect your location, what you type or your advertising ID. You can turn it off under About.
No ad SDK, no crash reporting SDK
Neither is in the app. Crash reports come from Google Play and the App Store.
Alerts only if you want them
You only get notifications if you turn them on, and only for suspensions and major disruptions.

2017 to 2026
The 2017 app had live station CCTV and crowd ratings from thousands of commuters. It reached the HACKATREN finals and was on CNN Philippines, then spent years off the store.
